Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2007 Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva La Fabriseria is distinctly savory in the glass with wild herbs, ground ginger, cocoa and black olive. This is soft and enveloping with a brisk acidity that adds vibrancy as ripe red and black fruits settle upon the senses. There's a purity and inner sweetness here that I find compelling, offset by its almost herbal nature, as the 2007 finishes with a gentle tug of tannins. I can't call this a classic style of Amarone; it's a little rustic yet delightful.
