The 2006 Amarone della Valpolicella is another intense wine. Smoke, tar, licorice and black cherries wrap around the palate in this sumptuous Amarone. The 2006 is a fairly obvious wine, with little in the way of real subtlety. Still, there is something about its frank, immediate personality that is appealing.
