The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino Selezione Iacopo is a dusty and perfumed beauty in the glass. This wafts up with notes of dried strawberry, plums, stone dust and hints of sweet spice. It coasts along the palate with grace, carried by brilliant acidity, with a balanced inner sweetness that evolves into a salty flourish of minerality toward the close. The 2020 finishes persistent, with a fine web of tannins that punctuates things perfectly. With just a few years of cellaring, this will be a dreamy Rosso with a broad and open drinking window. Only 3,000 bottles were produced.
