La Serena’s 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gemini presents a very dark color accompanied by masses of sweet, over-ripe fruit and toasted oak on a full-bodied frame. It offers excellent length and persistence on the palate, but the coarse tannins convey an impression of limited elegance.
