The 2009 Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda opens with a gorgeous, exotic bouquet. White truffle, kirsch, menthol, licorice and dried rose petal are nicely lifted. There is a bit of dryness on the very back end of the finish, a gentle reminder of how many wines were made at this time.
