Tasting Notes and Scores
The star of the show was the 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape Lieu Dit Pignan. Inky colored, full-bodied, rich and shockingly concentrated in the vintage, this beauty offers of a stunning bouquet of plums, blueberries, honey and violets. It’s one of the true gems in the vintage and will have 10-15 years of longevity.

(aged in used demi-muids): Deep violet. Intense, mineral-accented red and dark berry liqueur aromas are complemented by suggestions of candied flowers, star anise and garrigue, and a smoky nuance builds in the glass. Gracefully combines power and finesse, offering sappy boysenberry and cherry flavors and a sexy lavender pastille flourish. Fine-grained tannins provide subtle grip on a very long, focused finish.
