There’s great, vibrant fruit here still, alongside blackberry jam, blackcurrant, a touch of fig and woodsmoke. Medium, almost light-bodied for a Hermitage, with light extraction but great salinity and impact, it really fans out and expands on the finish. Great energy. I love the freshness and the searching tannins, between finesse and wildness. Faurie is a magician, his style inimitable - I love the uniquely feathery, light style of Hermitage he conjures up.
