Opaque ruby. Cherry and dark berries on the pungent, mineral-accented nose. Taut and sharply focused, with energetic dark fruit flavors and a hint of candied violet. Gains sweetness with air and finishes with lingering florality and very good clarity.

Dark fruit, a little dusty on the nose, rocky, not much lift. On the palate too it seems a little flat, caught between peppery freshness and very ripe richness and not really achieving either. Firm and dry and the tannins are nicely managed but it is just a bit flat and dull. (JH)
