Tasting Notes and Scores
Crafted from a combination of Côte Brune and Côte Blonde lieux-dits, the 2022 Cote Rotie la Mordorée reveals a dense, complex bouquet of spices, espresso, licorice and dark berries mingled with hints of vanilla pod. Full-bodied and rich, it’s muscular and powerful, with a tannic core of fruit and a long, rustic, dry finish. Structured and densely layered, it will benefit from some time in the cellar to soften and develop further.

Cask sample. The nose shows pencil lead, red and dark fruits and iron earthy notes. The palate is full and ripe and the tannins are very firm indeed, the oak is integrating but still needs a lot of time. Youthful and so hard to judge right now. Intense tannins dominate the wine. Leave for at least 6 years. (AC)
