The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Combe Aux Moines 1er Cru comes from purchased fruit, whereby Pierre takes care of the vineyard. It has a transparent nose, very vibrant and peppery, though when I ask Pierre how much stems are in the blend, the answer is zero. The medium-bodied palate has supple tannins, gentle in the mouth at first but building towards a cohesive, satin-textured, black pepper-tinged lingering finish. Very fine.
