The 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru is lovely, bursting with aromas of sweet wild berries and cherries mingled with rose petals, orange rind and baking chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, ample and perfumed, with a broad attack that segues into a fleshy, supple mid-palate, it concludes with a long, saline finish.

The 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru has quite a backward nose at first, unfolding with a mixture of red and black fruit, forest floor, black truffle and stony scents. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rigid tannins on the entry, though they will soften with time. A sturdy Echézeaux this, perhaps just missing a bit of grace on the finish.
