The 2019 Beaune Les Avaux 1er Cru includes 20% whole cluster and offers tightly wound red berry fruit, developing loamy aromas with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet, slightly candied entry. Strawberry pastilles mix with orange pith and vanilla-y notes toward the finish. Still a bit of oak to be assimilated, but there is decent length here. Fine.
