The 2019 Beaune Pertuisots 1er Cru comes from Devevey's oldest vines, the core over 60 years old and the rest 35 years old, worked by the Domaine since 1999. It has a lively blackberry and wild hedgerow bouquet with fine definition, a hint of balsamic that I am intrigued to see if it remains after bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins that lend rondeur to this Beaune, supple and mouth-filling, with a subtle mint-tinged finish. A gutsy and satisfying wine in the making.
