From a plot of vines planted in 1922, the 2015 Nuits-Saint-Geroges 1er Cru Aux Perdrix Les 8 Ouvrées is a decidedly dramatic rendition of the 2015 vintage, bursting from the glass with an extravagant bouquet of blood orange, spice, dried flowers, plums, cassis and a lavish framing of new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and deep at the core, its considerable chassis of deceptively fine tannin cloaked in succulent fruit, its finish precise and sappy, with just a touch of Nuits tannin asserting itself on the back end.
