Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru takes time to cohere in the glass. Initially simplistic, it develops nicely with aeration, revealing more mineralité and a subtle but enhancing reduction. The palate is well balanced with a taut line of acidity. Very pleasant spiciness, quite animated in the mouth with a vibrant finish that might just miss a bit of persistency. However, there is a multifaceted and energetic Corton-Charlemagne that should repay bottle age and surpass its showing from barrel. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
