Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has an odd nose, a little petrolly and Germanic, yet the more I sit with this, the more I fall for its charms and the more mineralité percolates through. The taut, poised palate is well balanced with fine acidity and good weight. There is a slight creaminess in texture toward the finish. A pretty Corton-Charlemagne with an elegant touch. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

You need to like a good dose of oak in your chardonnay to go for this. Quite toasty nose with some fresh coconut and candied citrus. Medium-bodied with good depth of fruit at the front, but not the power at the finish that you expect from a Grand Cru. Drink now.
