Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a smear of dark chocolate on the nose that, as with the Clos Vougeot, obscures the terroir at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied and quite firm in the mouth, with grainy tannin, a little toastiness toward the finish and a savory aftertaste. I think the Echézeaux has more potential this year.
