Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaut Saint-Jacques 1er Cru is 100% whole bunch this year. The stems are neatly subsumed on the nose. It is very well defined, quite focused and notably minerally, with touches of incense and Earl Grey. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, ripe and poised dark berry fruit laced and clove spice. There is lovely weight on the finish. Excellent.
