The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos du Fonteny suffered from the drought and its ongoing issues with leaf roll virus, so yields are low, and the resulting wine is quite structured and serious, offering up aromas of sweet cherries, plums and smoke, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and dense palate.
