The 2021 Volnay Les Aussy 1er Cru shows some dilution on the nose, lacking the fruit intensity of its peers and becoming more diffuse in the glass. The palate is simple and one-dimensional, lacking a bit of acidity and monotone on the finish. It feels like a generic Pinot Noir and not a particularly good one at that. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
