Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a noticeable liquorish scent on the nose that rather detracts from the terroir expression. This recedes with aeration, revealing more mineral notes and good delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with taut tannin and very linear and strict in style, but the new oak is very nicely integrated and there is a sorbet-like freshness toward the finish. It needs several years but this should turn out to be a fine Les Amoureuses, even if it does not match my expectations from barrel. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Healthy red-ruby. Excellent floral lift to the aromas of black raspberry, blueberry and mint. Then wonderfully suave and seamless but with terrific energy and juiciness to its crushed dark fruit and cocoa powder flavors. The tannins are very refined, but the wine's very long finish is still youthfully clenched. This wine boasts plenty of structure for graceful evolution in bottle.
