Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny "Cuvée Jules" 1er Cru was reduced from 3.5 barrels to a single barrel this year and contains 100% whole bunches. It's made up of more fruit from Chatelôt this year due to the frost. This just misses the energy of Lignier's other cuvées, perhaps because it was whittled down to such meagre quantity. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins. It's harmonious and balanced yet misses some complexity on its very linear finish. One of Lignier's earlier drinking cuvées; however, it still retains virtues.
