Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2019 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru has a fresh and vital bouquet with vibrant redcurrant and raspberry fruit, wilted rose petals, crushed stone and a touch of oyster shell. The oak here is well handled and integrated. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. The tannins are chiseled and lend this Pommard superior precision and focus compared directly against its peers, with plenty of sapidity toward the finish. I can see this aging with style in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
