Tasting Notes and Scores
(50% vendange entier): Good medium red. Deeper-pitched on the nose than the Ostrea, offering aromas of plum, mocha and brown spices. Plumper in the mouth too, showing a more spicy, peppery stem character at the expense of some of its red fruits in the early going. Nicely broad and voluminous, with a dusty finish featuring herbs and spices from the stems. This will need time to harmonize in the bottle.

Much deeper and more purple in color than the domaine's other Premier Crus, the 2014 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle has a richer nose with more fruit intensity, although it does not quite possess the same delineation as the Clos Prieur. The palate is medium-bodied with roundness in the mouth. There is a softness here, quite forward with a gentle grip towards the finish; although it does not quite deliver the persistence or finesse as some of the other Premier Crus.
