Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur is another of the more structured Gevreys in this line-up. Here it is the wine's focus and drive that are most impressive. This shows marvelous energy in its fragrant, nuanced fruit.

Moderately saturated medium red. Cooler on the nose than the Petite-Chapelle, offering hints of cherry, pepper and minerals. Then sweeter in the mouth but offering a bit less lift, clarity and mineral energy than the Petite-Chapelle. Here the tannins are a bit less refined. But this will drink earlier.
