The 2007 Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Chambertin showcases the greatness of Burgundy. The Chambertin is delicate and refined, but offers sneaky concentration to the almost weightless flavors of minerally red berries and smoke.

Medium red. Wild aromas of red fruits, smoked meat, spices and earth. Lush on entry, then sweet in the middle but youthfully unforthcoming, with intriguing saline and white fruit suggestions. There's nothing heavy about this fresh, sappy, fine-grained wine. Offers the best palate coverage of these 2007s but this is not a blockbuster. Finishes with suave tannins and a note of nutty oak.
