The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Aux Réas was completely destemmed. It has a pure, focused bouquet of dark cherries and black currant aromas, plus just a touch of pressed iris flower. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, succulent tannins, good depth and quite a precocious finish for Village Cru. Excellent.

Cask sample. Bright reddish crimson. Really very pleasing combination of Vosne energy and fully ripe fruit that speaks for itself and is not dominated by any winemaking elements. Great length and already nicely in balance. Supremely appetising. (JR)
