Bright dark red. Raspberry liqueur and smoky minerality on the very ripe nose. Then highly concentrated and youthfully dry, with sappy, saline red fruit and mineral flavors carrying impressively through a very long finish. The pronounced rocky quality on the back gives this village wine outstanding structure and finesse, not to mention potential longevity.

Liger-Belair's 2012 Vosne Romanée Aux Réas is fabulous. Dark red cherries, plums and exotic spices are given a burst of energy by the wine's insistent salinity. The 2012 is wonderfully juicy and immediate, with superb purity in its flavors and exceptional overall balance. This is a superb village-level Burgundy.
