Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2012 Corton Clos du Roi boasts striking inner perfume and layers of expressive dark fruit, all supported by incisive, yet beautifully integrated tannins. Today the Clos du Roi s understandably tightly wound, but it is a jewel of a wine in the making. Readers need to be very patient here.

Dark ruby-red. Sexy, soil-driven aromas of black raspberry, tobacco, minerals and earth. Sweeter and finer-grained than the Bressandes, showing a distinctly wild character to its raspberry, red cherry, mineral and earth flavors. Full, broad and intense, with lovely building length. The suave tannins spread out to coat the palate. Clearly better than the Bressandes in 2012.
