Tasting Notes and Scores
Produced from nearly 1ha of vines from high up on the Monts Luisants slope. The fruit is picked late, even in a year like 2019, and the result has both great ripeness and very fresh acidity. There are enticing, polished aromas of white flowers and ripe quince, with a saline/mineral edge. The texture is creamy and dense but not lacking in acidity. Absolutely delicious, the only criticism one might level is that it doesn’t taste much like Aligoté.

The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos des Monts Luisants Blanc wafts from the glass with notes of citrus oil, crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and pastry cream. Full-bodied, layered and incisive, it's concentrated and chiseled, concluding with a long, saline finish. This site seems to go from strength to strength in these warmer vintages.

The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos des Monts Luisants Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru comprises 80% Aligoté planted in 1911 and 20% replanted in 2006. It has a relatively light nose with subtle musk, pressed white flowers and a touch of beeswax. The palate is well balanced with a lovely texture, fine acidity and weight, lightly spiced with hints of ginger on a finish with impressive density. Very fine.
