The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru has a beautifully defined nose: wet limestone mixed with Golden Delicious, touches of wild peach and candle wax. The palate is well-balanced, quite understated on the entry, fresh and sapid. The very controlled and focused finish has just the right amount of bitterness to get the saliva flowing. The aftertaste is very long and persistent.
