Tasting Notes and Scores
Bright red-ruby. Very pure, brisk aromas of black cherry, licorice, crushed stone and minerals. Then surprisingly sweet in the mouth, with an almost liqueur-like quality to the reticent flavors of dark berries, black cherry and minerals. Medicinal and quite primary but the substantial tannins are nicely ripe for the year.

From the middle of the Clos de Vougeot. A little more discreet than the other Bernstein wines on the nose. Bumptious and concentrated. Very sinewy and muscular. A bit of new oak is a bit too obvious. (JR)
