The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village, which unusually for the Domaine had already been blended, comes from four lieux-dits mainly behind the winery. It has a lifted bouquet with raspberry, wild strawberry and veins of black fruit, as hints of iris flower and violet surface with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with gorgeous dark cherry fruit laced with tobacco and white pepper, leading to a lilting, open-knit finish. Lovely.

Cask sample. Soft mid crimson. Gorgeously seductive aroma. Hedonistic yet fresh. Scented and delicate on the palate and very long. Relatively light-bodied yet all in balance. (JH)
