Tasting Notes and Scores
A ripe, spicy and elegant nose presents notes of plum, cassis and warm earth. There is both good volume along with fine detail to the delicious and nicely concentrated medium-bodied flavors that also exude a fine bead of minerality before culminating in a dusty, cool and refined finale. Though there is some youthful austerity present there is no dryness and thus the overall sense of balance is more complete.
Allen Meadows
(No Brouillards and En Carelle sous Chapelle bottled in 2013.) No whole bunch, 25% new oak. Deep crimson. Really quite rich and round. Good attack. Nothing mean about this. Bitter cherries but really round and vibrant. Long, rather gorgeous. (JR)
