The 2023 Mazoyères-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru was showing a little more reduction than the Charmes-Chambertin when I tasted the barrel samples. But there is clearly a lot of concentration in situ. The palate is medium-bodied with bold, quite sturdy tannins. This is very concentrated, though perhaps the Charmes will deliver the transparency and elegance. Again, patience is required.
