The 2020 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru was showing a bit of reduction on the nose that made it difficult to read. The palate more expressive with a fine bead of acidity, lightly spiced citrus fruit laced with dessicated orange peel and stem ginger, the finish quite spicy and satisfying. Give this 4-5 years in bottle. Closure: Diam

The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes (Domaine Louis Jadot) exhibits aromas of popcorn, green apple, pear and orange oil. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's a rich, open-knit rendition of this site, derived from the holdings of the erstwhile Domaine Prieur-Brunet.

Cask sample. Even more creamy than the Bressandes with a hint of clementine and pear. Very high acidity, a little too high at the moment, not sure it will be balanced in the long term. Eye-watering now. Lean and long. Give it time. (JH)
