Tasting Notes and Scores
Bright, full red. A sexy hint of reduction blows off to reveal aromas of dark raspberry, mocha and licorice. A bit more red fruit than black on the palate, and displaying considerably more mineral and floral lift today than the RSV. This superb, silky, soil-driven wine conveys both power and finesse, not to mention outstanding energy and concentration. Finishes very long and vibrant, with a lingering note of brown spices. Seems a bit higher-toned than most of the rest of these 2014s, which gives it a flamboyant early personality, especially in the context of this long-aging grand cru. Splendid potential here.
