Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru offers darker, earthier fruit than the Les Seuvrées, with touches of loam and wild hedgerow, all finely delineated. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and tensile, with sappy red fruit and a linear, reserved finish. You would think this comes from a cooler vintage, as it is very classical in style. Recent bottling puts the reins on this Chambolle at the moment, hence the plus sign next to my score. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.

100% whole-bunch. Cask sample. The high proportion of whole-bunch comes through with freshness and bite on the palate. A little drying at the moment, this will settle with time in bottle. The fruit is pure and focused. Don't buy this expecting power and weight, but if elegance and lift is your thing, this will be great after a year (or two) in bottle. (AWH)
