The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet, is nicely focused and does not show any of the heat that marks some of the Chambolle Premier Crus. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and fine acidity. It's pretty saline in the mouth, but for a Chambolle, it feels a little slender and rigid on the finish. This is a rather disappointing showing compared to its wonderful performance in barrel, a view shared by others at this group tasting. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
