The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Rouges 1er Cru has a slightly rustic bouquet compared to Grivot’s other crus this year, but one that is still charming, offering red currants and cranberry and a touch of tomato leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine density and freshness Touches of white pepper and clove appear toward the cohesive, slightly meaty finish. Very charming.

Light to mid crimson. Scented with red fruit and stone dust. Mouth-watering freshness and purity, well structured by the finest of tannins that are easy to underestimate as they are so refined. Long and juicy. (JH)
