Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2021 Richebourg Grand Cru comprises of two barrels this year (one new, one 2-year-old). It has a beautifully-defined bouquet, very pure and intense, easily the most concentrated of all Grivot’s cuvées. Baked cherries, bergamot and a touch of bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine acidity, focused with a pliant finish that lingers long in the mouth, leaving a saline residue that urges you to take another sip. Proper Richebourg!

Cask sample. Deep-mid ruby. Fresh, minty red and black cherries. Layered with darker rich fruits beneath. Hugely concentrated but showing lovely lightness and delicacy. Vibrant, raffish acidity and beautifully elegant structure and tannins. I am tasting this much better than I did the 2020. A pleasure to taste today. Succulent – grand vin ! (MH)
