The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru has just a touch of reduction on the nose, but clean black fruit is behind it. The palate is powerful and very ripe, with black fruit laced with black pepper. It is almost northern Rhône-like in style, with a punchy, tannic finish that thankfully loses some of the residual heat as it opens in the glass. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Black! Rich nose and very confident. Set for the long term. Evokes memories of OW Loeb tastings upstairs in Merchant Taylors Hall! Masses of tannin but masses of fruit too. Convincing! (JR)
