The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chaignots 1er Cru has a tightly wound, quite broody bouquet at the moment, touches of black currant pastilles, crushed violet and chalk emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, quite linear and strict and very classic in style - quintessential Gouges! It just needs a little more flesh to develop on the finish. Fine.
