2019 Domaine Duroche, Vosne-Romanee

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from purchased fruit from Mauriane Duroché’s father and therefore eventually it will join the domaine. It has a tightly wound bouquet of dark berry fruit, light touches of cherry liqueur and clementine coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins that lend this Vosne-Romanée impressive weight. It really fills the mouth with lush red fruit and a long, sensual finish. It will be difficult to resist in its youth.

Grapes bought from Marianne Duroché’s parents (her father is Jacques Cacheux). From Les Chalandins in the north of the village. Tank sample. Quite intense and racy on the nose. Good Vosne drive. Some real richness and lots of energy. Red cherry fruit. Tiny dry sensation on the end. (JR)
