2023 Domaine Dujac, Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru, Les Beaux Monts

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet that unfolds light touches of finely delineated raspberry, blackcurrant, peony and menthol scents with each swirl. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a mélange of red and black fruit and a liberal sprinkling of black pepper toward the finish from the stems. Very harmonious and quite persistent, this is a very fine Beaux Monts that has a little more elegance than the previous vintage.

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts was still quite primary when I tasted it, unfurling in the glass with aromas of cherries, petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and suave, with a sweet core of fruit, it's pure and mineral.

Cask sample. Mid ruby. Cherry and raspberry fruit with lovely, ripe texture. Fine and savoury but just something slightly metallic nagging at the end. (MH)
