Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2022 Volnay Les Fremiets 1er Cru had quite a bit of reduction on the nose, making it difficult to read at the moment. The medium-bodied palate offers sappy red fruit and fine tannins, lightly spiced with a touch of orange rind and vanilla on the finish. This doesn't quite click out of second gear compared to, say, some of the Beaune Premier Crus - a little austere on the finish.
