Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 1er Cru was completely destemmed this year. It has slightly darker fruit than the Champeaux, with fine delineation and just a hint of licorice in the background, though it does not impede upon the terroir. The palate is medium-bodied and lightly spiced with poise on the entry, dark berry fruit tones and quite an elegant and understated finish. It was maybe a little more closed on the day but you could see the potential here. 12.8% alcohol.

100% destemmed. 50% new oak. Cask sample. Serious and dense with great purity of flavour – but marked acidity! (JR)
