Tasting Notes and Scores
This is a wine of almost frightening concentration, with a dark, profound cassis and mulberry fruit accented with black liquorice, rosemary, smoke, and spice notes. There is a nearly Port-like density on the palate, yet the wine carries it well since there is enough structure to support this concentration level. Produced from the same old-vine patch as the Vieilles Vignes, it is made only with the bunches closest to the trunk, with an almost unbelievably powerful effect. This wine will need time to open but should age forty years or more.
