The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is fleshy and gourmand, bursting with aromas of cherries, cassis, sweet spices, orange rind and peony. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and enveloping, with powdery tannins and a saline finish, it's beautifully balanced.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, matured in around 50% new oak, has a dense blackberry and briar nose with undergrowth and iris flower touches. The palate has a firm backbone, quite tight at the moment (maybe because, as Bachelet points out, it's a leaf day), and a gentle grip with a tightly wound yet fresh, saline finish. I would afford this two or three years in bottle.
