The 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Séchet, from a small parcel within Vaillons where hard limestone lies close to the surface, is a considerable success and quite distinct from a typical Vaillons. Offering notes of green apples, white flowers and oyster shell, it’s medium-bodied, with racy acidity, superb intensity and tension and a long, strikingly chalky finish. This comes warmly recommended and stands as the finest interpretation of this climat.
